My Thoughts on Writing with AI

Let me start out by saying I do not have any problems with AI or people who use it. AI is a great tool that can help writers or people who would like to improve their writing skills. AI has become a popular writing resource for most but in my case, I don’t feel the need to use AI, now before you get upset about my opinion. Here are my reasons why I will not be using AI to write my books or blogs.

Creativity

I enjoy writing my books and blogs, the part I enjoy about writing my books is the writing process and planning process. I also enjoy organizing my own stories using my thoughts. I love using my creativity to create stories that I could never imagine. I sit down, take my time, and think about what I want to write. I look to see what is happening right now that could create a story unique for my readers based on real-life experiences and nature. As a kid, I often played in the woods and I would create fun stories about bugs and rabbits I would see. It was a fun experience for me because I love making up stories about animals trying to survive lol. My point is Ai wasn’t around at that time, so growing up without  AI helping me create a story is normal for me. I don't see the need to use it. If I use AI I feel like it’s taking my creativity away. That's just how I feel, I like to have control over what I’m writing. I want to write my own words, but AI doesn't think or write like me. I play a game called the Sims 4 and in that game, I can create characters with personalities from scratch such as names, ages, aspirations, goals, likes, and dislikes. That game allows me to create any type of character I want and This is one of the methods I use when I write my books. This is how I create all my characters. I can play Sims for hours because I enjoy all the creativity I did making my characters super fun.

My Blogs

The reason I won’t use AI to write my blogs is because I want readers to know my real experiences. I am a real person who has real-life experiences and challenges. I want to freely express this in my own words. I don't want  AI to do it for me. I love blogging and it allows me who i want and write for my readers. I want them to know I understand feelings, emotions, and real-life situations. Blogging is not easy but i enjoy every i have learned.

Concerns

I have so many stories to tell and these are real-life experiences that AI could never have or even tell you what it feels like to be there. For example, it can’t give you real insights on how it feels to give birth to a child, it would be able to give details but not like a real mother can. So yes it can help people write but I’m not that type of writer.

Another concern for me is I hear people saying AI is stealing writers' books and ideas. I'm not sure if it’s true but I rather not take a chance. I have screened some writers who have published books using AI and they never had a problem so yes it can be a great tool for some people. The best part about AI is that it helps writers write their books faster which is awesome but if I do that  I’m losing out on the experience of my creativity. I don’t just want a quick win so I don’t care how long it will take me. The biggest opportunity lies in not following the crowd. I heard AI can help writers become more creative but honestly that’s what editors and readers are for. Human connection is the best and that is what I’m used to. So with all this being said I have no problem with AI or anyone who uses it.
